About Zoe Leaf

I graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University in May 2020 with a major in Child Study and Human Development, focusing on child psychology. After graduating I worked as the coordinator of Dr. Beatrice Beebe's Communication Sciences Lab at NYSPI/CUIMC, where I learned about patterns of mother-infant interaction and dyadic nonverbal communication. I honed my research skills and developed an extensive understanding of how research works. Concurrently I took the one-year Infant Observation Seminar through the Anni Bergman Parent-Infant Program, where I conducted weekly clinical observations with a mother-infant dyad and met with a seminar supervision group. Beginning fall 2024 I am pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology at Long Island University-Brooklyn, where I hope to concentrate on child psychology and treatment and parent-infant relationships across diverse cultural contexts. Ultimately, I hope to practice psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and families, and to pursue research on sociocultural bases for mental health in childhood.
