About Zoe Malia

I am the Environmental Sustainability Manager of Allagash Brewing Company, an award-winning, Certified B Corp founded and based in Portland, Maine. I became Allagash’s first full-time Environmental Sustainability Manager in 2022 after four years as a Tasting Room Associate. I oversee three previously siloed categories of engagement and initiatives – those tied to the environment, the community, and Allagash employees. Key efforts include water conservation and re-use; the Allagash Recycling Co-op; brewing with more than 1.5 million pounds of Maine-grown grain per year; and directing funds to community organizations that give back to the people of Maine. Prior to joining Allagash in 2017, I worked in various hospitality roles around the country and as an Environmental Educator for Hudson River Park Trust. I earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biology and Chemistry from Manhattan College.
