About Zohar Hasson

I am currently a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Christine Vanek, J.A.D. on the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division. In 2022, I was awarded a grant through the Center for Translational Law at Rutgers Law School. I worked for Colombia Diversa, an organization fighting for full recognition and rights of LGBTQ individuals in Bogota, Colombia. In my role, I conducted research on LGBTQ rights in Colombia and drafted memoranda regarding various cases appearing before the Constitutional Court of Colombia. In law school, I served as a research assistant where I conducted legal research using Westlaw and LexisNexis on issues surrounding Title VII and the First Amendment. In the summer of 2021, I took Advanced Legal Research which enhanced my research and citation skills surrounding primary and secondary legal sources, case law, statutes, and administrative law. I also took Fourth Amendment Practice where I wrote a brief regarding evidence suppression and argued it. I was a staff editor for the Rutgers Journal of Law and Religion and participated in the Entrepreneurship Clinic. During law school, I worked as an administrator for the New Jersey Collaborating Center for Nursing at Rutgers University where I prepared yearly data reports and assisted in policy making regarding the student to nurse pipeline in New Jersey. I also served as an AmeriCorps Vista and Program Analyst with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion for the City of Jersey City. In that capacity, I developed programs to increase the number of underrepresented groups in the procurement process. Additionally, I worked on a study that highlighted salary and purchasing disparities surrounding race and gender. Finally, I worked as the direct point of contact for a CityStart grant from Bloomberg to increase financial independence and literacy in Jersey City, New Jersey
