About Zoya Malik

When I made the decision to study law, what I didn’t expect and what struck me most about the field, was discovering that the law is all about strategy. It’s about using the rules to your advantage. So why did I make the switch from law to marketing & advertising? This love of strategy is what lead to my love for marketing. I found myself drawn to investigating how businesses could build such powerful loyalty through the simple act of storytelling. I didn’t want my own life to be the age-old story. Practicality over passion, sensibility over excitement. So, I set out on a new path. People are sometimes baffled by my choice to switch gears. To them, I say that marketing at its very core is all about people. It’s strategizing how to get the right messages to the right audience. In an age where content is literally at our fingertips, could there be a more exciting job? My point has only been proven by risk number two in the tale. After my Master’s degree, I moved back to the country I was born in: Pakistan. in other words, the land of creative chaos. I dealt with a multitude of responsibilities such as copywriting, social media management, brand strategy and pitching to new clients. I handled major responsibility in just a short period of time and thrived under the pressure. Now, I’m taking all that I’ve learned so far to start a whole new adventure at Tech Nation.
