The Corinthian Yacht Club (CYC) is a full-service club offering members and visiting yachtsmen a broad range of sailing and racing events. For more than 125 years, the CYC has made yachting, racing and cruising history. The CYC also offers members tennis, swimming, dining and social activities in a vibrant and interactive community. The CYC was organized on July 7, 1885, to establish racing among smaller sailing vessels in busy Marblehead Harbor. Eaton Jr, George Stewart, William W. Whitcomb, George W. Tyner and C.H.W. Foster. The founders selected Pegasus, the flying horse of Corinth, as its emblem, and Et Certare Pares et Respondere Parati (Prepared both to contend together as equals and to respond to any challenge) as its motto. Throughout its history, the CYC has honored sailing traditions such as the annual cruise and regattas such as Marblehead Race Week and the Corinthian Classic Yacht Regatta. It has also established new ones such as a 2v2 team racing regatta.
