José Domingo Mora Márquez Lo que inicialmente fue una idea de discusión visionaria en el sentido de creación de una Universidad Privada asentada en los Valles de Aragua por un grupo muy pequeño, a partir de 1980 fue creciendo y consolidándose como propuesta de la iniciativa privada a una postergada aspiración educacional del Estado Aragua y de su extensa zona de influencia dentro de la región central de Venezuela. Los ideólogos y forjadores fundamentales de la creación de la Universidad Bicentenaria de Aragua fueron los Doctores José Gerardo Guarisma Álvarez y Basilio Sánchez Aranguren, quienes apoyados en un amplio grupo de profesionales de diferentes carreras y con experiencia en docencia e investigación, se fue elaborando el Proyecto de creación de una Universidad Privada para el Estado Aragua y zonas aledañas. En simultáneo se recibió el apoyo de empresarios, Gremios y Colegios de Profesionales, Asociaciones Civiles, dependencias gubernamentales como la Dirección de Malariología y Saneamiento Ambiental y Corpoindustria, Banca Privada, Fedecámaras y en especial del Obispado de la Diócesis de Maracay representado por su Titular Monseñor Feliciano González. En este ínterin, se suma al Proyecto el Dr. Raúl Quero Silva, consolidándose así con el apoyo general de la comunidad Aragüeña, la factibilidad de su aprobación. Misión de la institución La Universidad Bicentenaria de Aragua, UBA, cumple el propósito de formar profesionales orientados a la búsqueda permanente de la transformación social para el bienestar y desarrollo humano, en adhesión a los principios y valores trascendentales del hombre y la sociedad, con criterios de pertinencia, calidad, sostenibilidad y justicia. En la UBA, la formación tiene lugar bajo el auspicio de procesos de aprendizaje transformacionales, sociales y tecnológicamente innovadores, comprometidos con la realidad propia de la Universidad, y con los desafíos de los contextos regional, nacional y global.
