The Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey is a small, private graduate school located in Monterey, California. The Institute offers nine languages of study—Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish—and language and intercultural communication skills are emphasized in each of our degree programs. Our faculty are both top experts and leading practitioners in their fields, and our 8:1 student-faculty ratio ensures they are available to help you pursue your goals both inside and outside the classroom. Over 90% of our students have worked, studied, or lived abroad before coming to MIIS, and many go abroad again after enrolling.
