A seguito della riforma Brunetta, che ha ridisegnato i comparti di contrattazione collettiva nel pubblico impiego riducendoli agli attuali 5, nel 2014 la F.L.P. ha dato vita ad una ulteriore confederazione, denominata C.G.S. – Confederazione Generale Sindacale, divenuta anch’essa maggiormente rappresentativa nel Pubblico Impiego. Nel 2016 la F.L.P. ha contribuito, come soggetto costituente, alla nascita della CIDA – FC, organizzazione sindacale maggiormente rappresentativa nell’attuale Area Dirigenziale delle Funzioni Centrali. La mission di FLP è quella di recuperare la partecipazione dei lavoratori alle scelte del sindacato, attraverso un potenziamento di alcuni strumenti contrattuali (ad esempio il referendum) con cui i primi possano verificare il lavoro svolto da quest’ultimo. Al tempo stesso fondamentale elemento su cui si concentra l’azione della F.L.P. è il recupero, all’interno della categoria degli impiegati pubblici, di una coscienza collettiva critica e responsabile. Per tale ragioni la FLP, rifiutando le logiche con cui gli altri sindacati in questi anni hanno utilizzato i lavoratori pubblici per raggiungere obiettivi di monopolio sindacale e di occupazione di importanti settori della burocrazia, è andata in controtendenza rispetto alle perdite di consenso fatte registrare negli ultimi anni dai sindacati tradizionali. Il dinamismo che la caratterizza trova riscontro nella volontà dell’attuale Segreteria di voler costruire un soggetto sindacale nuovo, che porti ad una totale revisione del rapporto tra il Sindacato e i lavoratori.
