About Face Yourself

In about three decades, I have experienced more good and bad than some people will in a lifetime. I’ve been in the trenches of the deepest parts of my soul, experienced rock bottom, and found my way to not only come out on top but to help others in their journey. Why work with me? I’ve been in your shoes. I’ve climbed the corporate ladder to enjoy professional success without satisfaction. I experienced childhood as a minority in an all-white school and the corresponding struggles with self-confidence. As a man, I’ve felt the need to “cover up” my true feelings, discarding vulnerability as weakness. I hit true rock bottom when, at the height of my life and career, I suffered an instantaneous, devastating cerebral arteriovenous malformation (AVM) at the age of 31. In the blink of an eye, my entire right side was paralyzed and I soon faced cohorts of medical professionals who told me I would never walk or work again. I had to re-teach myself EVERYTHING. Not only the physical challenges of how to walk, write, drive but the mental challenges as well. How to feel confident, open up to people, date, even how to drag myself out of bed each day and try again. Since then, I have traveled the world, invested in and studied mindfulness as if it were a college degree, became a Best Selling Amazon Author, co-founded a resilience company, and climbed my way back up the corporate ladder. The challenges never go away, life is never fully “fixed,” but therein lies the beauty. Over the years, I have combined my own life experiences with the thousands of hours of training and seminars to find a recipe for not only surviving but thriving, even on the days where I too find it difficult to get out of bed.
