An Organ of the African Union with the mandate to monitor the implementation of the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACRWC). The ACRWC was adopted by the Heads of State and Government of the then OAU on 11th July 1990 and came into force on 29th November To date, 50 out of the 55 Member States of the African Union have ratified the Charter, 41 have submiited eports on the measures they have adopted which give effect to the provisions of this Charter and on the progress made in the enjoyment of these rights.
