Anaerobic digestion (AD) is rapidly expanding worldwide due to its numerous benefits covering both sustainability and renewable energy generation. However there is a serious and expensive problem of disposing the current volume of waste liquid effluent produced. ADFertech is developing a low-cost, bolt-on device for AD plants whereby nutrients contained within AD waste are concentrated and processed to form organic granular fertiliser. This value-added fertiliser is much easier to store and transport than traditional liquid fertiliser and will mean companies and farmers do not have to spend millions on wastewater treatment.
