The Association of Forensic Professionals of Nigeria, AFPON is a collection of experts in the various fields of forensic science with a common ideology to address the dearth and optimize the potential and practice of forensic science in Nigeria with the overall objective of assisting the courts of law in the delivery of reliable justice, with the mission to bridge the gap in forensic knowledge between Nigeria and the global sphere, adhering to the principles of professionalism and the sole aim of improving the justice system. AFPON was established to pursue the following objectives: 1. To create awareness among the general public on forensic science and its roles in society. To encourage the dissemination of professional information within the field of forensic science and to discuss problems of common interest 3. To foster cooperation among forensic scientists. To stimulate research and development of new techniques within the field. To protect the interest and image of all forensic practitioners.
