African Youth Development Link (AYDL) is one of Uganda’s leading dynamic youth-led Non-Governmental Organization on a mission to put young people at the heart of governance and decision-making. Headquartered in Kampala with satellite offices in the North and North Eastern Uganda, the organization was founded in 2009 to provide a link between youth and governance policy processes in Uganda so that we are each part of something larger than ourselves. AYDL strives to advocate for implementation and reform of laws and policies for increased youth participation in leadership and democratic governance process at local and national levels for progress and change. Our Vision: An empowered youth movement building better lives for young people through their engagement in development and governance processes. Our Mission: Empowerment of youth to participate in governance and development through advocacy. Goal: To support the education and empowerment of youth through capacity building, technical assistance, research, and networking, so that youth can participate effectively in shaping development and governance processes, to generate meaningful positive change on policy issues of importance to youth (including health, employment, education, environment, poverty reduction, gender equality, human rights and political participation).
