I am a mindfulness educator with 33 yrs of practice, an experienced & engaging presenter and speaker, and a caring trainer & coach at ease with people of all ages and cultures. My work is a blend of Western corporate training & Eastern inner-based practices, a synthesis that promotes a full engagement of work & home life. The result is a unique approach offering knowledge & wisdom in a practical and empowering way. My clients range from individuals seeking peace at home & at work, to corporate & other entities including Hugo Boss, CAA, Thomas Cook, The Senate of Canada, KPMG, Labatt Brewing, Christian Dior, Fowler Museum, The Capital Group, UTA, Hammer Museum, and Amazon. I have experienced working life from a variety of perspectives— as a mindfulness educator, corporate trainer, former Human Right Commissioner, adjudicator, mediator, free-lance journalist, and an executive at not-for-profit and for-profit entities. I began studying & practicing a range of meditation and mindfulness techniques in 1985. I trained at the Maharishi Transcendental Meditation Center in Perth, Australia, received private lessons and teachings from my teacher & renowned Buddhist monk, The Venerable Dr. Vivekananda, and traveled with him throughout Asia. I graduated from Sacred Path at the Shambhala Meditation Center of Los Angeles. I have also been a student of Rumi’s philosophy for decades. I am a graduate of UCLA’s first Mindfulness Facilitation Program, offered through the Mindfulness Awareness Research Center (MARC) at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior where I now teach Mindful Awareness Practices. Born in the East, raised in the West, thrilled with my challenges & excited about helping to make secular mindfulness & living with compassion accessible to the global community, I am a passionate teacher determined to address the world’s growing demand for a balance of inner peace and outer accomplishment.
