Sometimes we just don’t know how to help someone when we see a need. Most people want to help but they don’t know what to do, how to do it, or lack the funds immediately needed. Our organization is dedicated to fill in some of these gaps and we hope that our grants can be helpful and make an immediate and significant impact on people’s lives. The structure of our organization is different from many other organizations, as we empower community members to become Advocates and request the grant for someone they believe in. Advocates tell the story of the person in need, and then make a request for what would be useful or meet the need. In this way we create a small but growing community of people helping others. We hope that by asking people to think about ways to help others and making these requests to the foundation, we can create a ripple effect that can possibly be felt by many.
