Avli In Malia

Avli is settled inside an 18th century mansion with a private garden, in the old town of Malia. We took great consideration of the traditional architecture and structure of the buildings of the era when we fully renovated it to create a restaurant where guests can taste traditional flavours and feel the authentic Cretan hospitality. Enjoy your dinner and a glass of selected, fine wine in a garden (avli) filled with honeysuckles and jasmines. We focus on choosing the right, pure and fresh local ingredients - some of which of our own produce - and be loyal to a traditional way of cooking - certainly without the use of microwaves! We daily bake our own bread in our wood oven as well as most of our meals and our home made “galaktoboureko” dessert. Tender beef, slow-cooked in our wood burning oven with aubergines, pork shank with local homemade pasta or salmon with strawberry sauce. are some of our dishes, out of our wide list which is frequently adjusted to seasonal ingredients.
