For 96 years, we have been serving our customers in Piraeus, near the port and we became famous for our "tasting menu" that in the 50s and 60s ended up containing around 30 different dishes. At that time, a dinner at “Vassilenas” was an unmissable experience for all famous foreign stars and dignitaries visiting Greece: from Winston Churchill to Tyron Power and from Sophia Loren to Elia Kazan, they have all tasted our delicacies. In more recent years, after the third generation of owners took charge, the restaurant serves creative Modern Greek cuisine and has been repeatedly acclaimed by the local and international press. It has been awarded various prizes during the last decade and is established as one of the top restaurants in Athens. In December 2016, it moved to an amazing new location in the centre of Athens. The new “Vassilenas” has been designed by the award-winning architects Maria Kokkinou and Andreas Kourkoulas.
