Beyond the Classroom is an executive function and life skills coaching practice that empowers students to build independence and prepare for adulthood by developing the skills, mindset, and daily habits that are critical for success inside the classroom and in life beyond. We build critical executive function and professional readiness skills in middle and high school students to enable them to effectively self-manage, build independence, and ultimately prepare for the real-life demands of adulthood. What exactly is executive function? Put simply, it is the ability to manage the demands of daily life with a highly organized and controlled approach, all while feeling motivated and confident.even under stress or when setbacks emerge. Beyond the Classroom offers a mix of in-person and digital learning content, digital tools (via a mobile app), and 1:1/small group coaching. Our methodology is highly personalized and caters to each student and family's individual goals and areas for growth. Each student begins by taking a proprietary diagnostic to analyze their current level of executive function. In collaboration with a coach, this assessment informs a custom learning journey and executive function toolkit for the student and their family. Regular progress checks measure growth over time and ensure continuous development. Beyond the Classroom was founded in 2021 by Jen Zacharias, MBA who spent her career serving in management consulting (ex-BCG) and brand management leadership roles. Jen was most recently Head of Onboarding for BCG North America, responsible for training the firm's client-facing new hires for the intense challenges of a management consulting career. A Certified Internal Coach through the Hudson Institute of Coaching, Jen brings her professional, learning & development, and coaching expertise to each client to propel them to achieve success both inside & beyond the classroom.
