Black Drop

Black Drop is an unconventional coffee bar that is distinguished by a post-industrial style, a harmonized combination of diverse materials and a honest dialogue that attempts to create with the urban environment and the public space. The original thought of its owners was "the creation of a modern coffee shop, with large, open spaces and industrial style, along with elements that give the feeling that they are old, such as mosaics and masonry. It was something we had seen in respective cafes in Berlin and Australia and we really liked it ", emphasizes the barista Antonis Saraliotis, one of the co-owners of the store. The store was developed on an area of 130 sq.m. which resulted from the merging of different spaces. Thus, its visitors feel that they are entering a large, open space. In fact, a part of the pre-existing loft was demolished in order to take advantage of the double height. Thanks to its bright orientation and the layout of the interiors, the store is an active gallery, a natural passage that leads from the busy Kapnergaton square and Kassandrou street to the parallel Damianou street. Black Drop is a general proposal on how to organize and design a coffee shop. So we sought to be in constant dialogue with the urban environment so that its visitors perceive going out for coffee as a social event, as part of the experience of touring the city. The space reflects a quality that is confirmed in our products. Everything we offer is handmade, while espresso is a sweet drink blend made especially for us at the Qualita Unica factory in Thessaloniki.
