Black Goat Studios
Black Goat Studios was established in 1993 by artist Entang Wiharso as his workspace and now has facilities in Yogyakarta, Indonesia and Rhode Island, USA. Early in his career, Wiharso realized that his studio practice could accommodate a wider range of activities and participants and developed it into an office, educational facility, library, laboratory and place for collaboration. The name Black Goat Studios was adopted in 2009 to reflect developments in the artist's multi-disciplinary creative practice, career and community projects. In Wiharso and his wife Christine Cocca founded Antena Projects (AP), a project-based arts organization under the umbrella of Black Goat Studios. Located within Black Goat Studios’ facilities in Indonesia, AP offers national and international residencies for artists, curators, conservators and writers, organizes arts events and offers workshops for kindergarten, elementary and college students. Antena Projects' activities are intended to contribute to heterogeneous art practices and provide opportunities for a diverse community of artists Entang Wiharso (b. 1967, Tegal, Java) studied painting, graduating from the Indonesian Institute of Arts in Yogyakarta.
