Buddha's Light International Association - Young Adult Division (BLIA-YAD) has a vital role to play in Humanistic Buddhism and its localization in the Philippines. YAD is essential in the continuity of promoting the goal of Fo Guang Shan that includes culture, education, charity, and Buddhist practice. The BLIA YAD Philippines is the young buddhist community where the pursuit and spread of the Dharma are undertaken according to the highest spiritual intellect and volunteer standards. It shall remain faithful to these aims: 1. To pursue and promote culture, charity, education and Humanistic Buddhism. To promote, in an atmosphere of openness, the integral development of all members of the Buddhist community so that they may work with goodwill, competence, and team spirit. To form committed volunteers and encourage them to serve with personal initiative and responsibility, thereby helping create harmonious working environment. To create and spread a culture that strengthens humanistic buddhism, the dharma, and that promotes understanding and cooperation among the members.
