Community and Family Services International (CFSI) is a humanitarian organization committed to peace and social development. The purpose of CFSI is rebuilding lives. Mission The mission of CFSI is to vigorously promote and protect human security-specifically the lives, well-being, and dignity of people uprooted by persecution, armed conflict, disasters, and other exceptionally difficult circumstances. CFSI has two major goals. The first is to empower and equip uprooted people and others in exceptionally difficult circumstances to address and prevent social and health problems. The second is to prevent children, women, and men from becoming uprooted by promoting peace, respect for human rights, and the equitable distribution of resources. Company Overview Based in the Philippines, CFSI works internationally, primarily but not exclusively in the Asia and Pacific Region. Established in 1981, CFSI has worked closely with the international community as well as national and local authorities responsible for uprooted persons in the Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Myanmar (Burma), Malaysia, Thailand, Viet Nam, Cambodia, Timor-Leste (East Timor) and Papua New Guinea. Ongpin Foundation, Inc. was established on 17 December 1980 as a corporate social arm of Benguet Corporation, the Philippines oldest mining company. Originally called the Benguetcorp Foundation, its creation was inspired by the late Jaime V. Ongpin, the company’s first Filipino president, who envisioned the development of self-reliant communities. It begun by operating and implementing development projects in mining camps of the corporation.
