Buchan Offshore Wind Limited is the developer of the Buchan Offshore Wind Farm, having secured the development rights for Plan Option Area NE8 in the ScotWind leasing round. Buchan Offshore Wind is a partnership between three leading European energy businesses: BayWa r.e, a global renewable energy company with offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh; Elicio, an experienced Belgian offshore wind developer, owner, and operator; and BW Ideol, a proven leader in floating technology and international floating wind co-developer. Located 75km northeast of Fraserburgh on the Aberdeenshire coast, the Buchan Offshore Wind Farm will have a capacity of approximately 960MW, making a significant contribution to the net zero targets of both Scotland and the UK.
