Civic Room
Civic Room, formerly housed in an old British Linen Bank in Glasgow is now a curatorial visual arts agency in North London. Since 2015, Civic Room led by Sarah Strang has curated and produced over 30 projects and events with a range of international and local artists, academic partners and organisations. From 2015 until 2022 Civic Room was housed in a former British Linen Bank located in the east end of Glasgow at 215 High Street. Past partnerships include, Glasgow International, Festival of Architecture, National Doors Open Day, Glasgow School of Art, Refugee Festival Scotland. Previous exhibiting artists at Civic Room include Christian Noelle Charles, Liv Fontaine, Ashanti Harris, Catalina Barroso-Luque, Marco Giordano, Toby Paterson, Sue Tompkins and Geneva Sills, exhibitions and projects later toured within UK galleries. In 2021 the Of Lovely Tyrants and Invisible Women programme was funded by a consortium of partners including Creative Scotland, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Historic Environment Scotland and the Glasgow City Heritage Trust
