Co-Haty

CO-HATY is a project that emerged in response to Ukraine’s housing crisis, which has been severely worsened by the full-scale war. Initially, it was a volunteer initiative started by the METALAB team and relocated members of the Urban Curators agency in March 2022. We brought together a community of partners and invited volunteers to join in the restoration of the first abandoned buildings. Today, we are a professional organisation creating housing and building communities with love and dignity. We implement architectural and urban expertise, cooperate with local governments and property owners, raise budgets for repairing and furnishing, coordinate the construction process, and design furniture for retrofitted spaces. CO-HATY focuses on developing existing collective housing systems based on the principles of sustainability, accessibility, and transparency. Our team has already completed seven projects, providing approximately 1,500 living spaces in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, and Vinnytsia regions. Three new projects are in progress.
