Coburn Architecture is a design practice based in Cairns, Far North Queensland. We are focused on delivering high quality architectural projects that effectively and efficiently meet the spatial needs of the end users and contribute positively to their experience of the built environment and well-being. We enjoy working collaboratively with our Clients to achieve their goals. At Coburn Architecture, we are particularly concerned with identifying and managing the different challenges and possibilities each project brings to achieve the best outcome by- Understanding the Client’s functional, psychological and commercial requirements - Interpreting the requirements of diverse user groups and managing different expectations - Analysing the social and environmental impacts and opportunities for the project in relation to the site and designing to enhance or mitigate these factors- Using our experience in designing and delivery projects in remote and topical regions to ensure the building form, services and materials are appropriate - Designing for durability and environmental sustainability - Designing buildings that are safe, flexible and accessible - Providing comprehensive documentation to reduce risks on site - Delivering projects on time and budget - Creating spaces that are relevant to their time, place and the people that use them. The practice was founded in 2013 by Alanna Coburn, following the closure of the dwp|suters Cairns Studio. Alanna and her close knit team are dedicated to providing end to end project management to service their clients in Northern Australia. Our project experience ranges from interior fit-outs and refurbishment projects to large community health, education and leisure facilities, as well as commercial developments.
