Commune De Kopstal

The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is divided into 100 communes. Under the supervision of the Ministry of the Interior, the citizens of a commune have the power to manage their own heritage, territory and interests. Every commune is led by a communal council. All council members are elected directly by the inhabitants of the commune, serve six-year terms and are eligible for reelection. The membership of a council is a part-time job. The communal council of Kopstal counts 11 members- 1 mayor (bourgmestre)- 2 aldermen (échevins)- 8 communal councillors (conseillers communaux) Our public administration is employing nearly 60 instructors, civil servants and communal workers in total to fulfill its responsibilities- Primary school - Childcare centre - Social cohesion and integration - Social welfare - Ecological health - Urban development (building permissions)- Cultural facilities - Sports facilities - Water supply - Waste management etc.
