WE CREATE ARTISTIC EXPERIENCES THAT BRIDGE THE DIVIDE Dash Arts creates exceptional artistic experiences that bridge divides across art-forms, cultures, languages and communities. Over the last 15 years, we’ve created award-winning new work with over artists and participants to audiences of over worldwide. Our international productions, live and digital events and education programmes expand the way we see the world. Dash Arts is led by Chief Executive and Artistic Director Josephine Burton. “Work of profound worldwide artistic significance, awakening us to new styles, beliefs and voices” — TORONTO STAR ON A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM We immerse ourselves in a particular part of the world, a question or a theme over an extended period of time to research, create and produce new work, resulting in rich productions, events and participation programmes with international actors, musicians and artists. We assemble multi-national creative teams that draw on their own experiences to create stories that need to be told and provide a platform for voices that pierce echo chambers. Through an artistic lens, our audiences engage in relevant, sensitive, sometimes difficult, often joyous conversations, and gain an increased understanding of different ways of seeing the world, cultures and performance styles. Our workshops reach out to disadvantaged and often unheard communities, providing a space for them to share their knowledge and become a crucial part of our artistic experiences. In all our work, we seek to fuse local and global perspectives, cut through stereotypes and generalisations, remove international cultural barriers, access hidden communities and increase our audience’s understanding of the many possibilities of performance.
