Dearborn Step Assessment Program

Dearborn STEP provides a comprehensive assessment for students in Grades 5-12 who require a 45-day extended evaluation. We provide clinical, academic, and milieu programming for students who have struggled to make progress in their prior placement. These challenges include, but are not limited to- Social-emotional challenges - Learning disabilities - School refusal - Mental health challenges - Recent hospital step-down that requires re-acclimation or an assessment of current functioning in a learning environment Dearborn STEP can be a healthy recalibration for students, caregivers, and districts. At the end of the evaluation period, recommendations are made to caregivers and districts about what we believe the student requires to be successful in school and beyond.
