Dementia Arts

We are the country’s leading art-based Dementia charity. Our primary goals are to build self-esteem & confidence though carrying out our dementia friendly, structured art sessions to people living in care homes in Ayrshire. Scientific studies show that art activities have significant impact on wellbeing and sense of identity. In addition, we believe our classes reduce isolation, increase confidence and builds social skills. At Dementia Arts, we have been privileged to be involved and witness this for ourselves. We are a self-funded charity and supply everything needed to carry out a class. Our work has been validated by the St Andrews University, and we were recognised in the Journal of Dementia Care. Our goal is to expand our services out with our current demographics and continue to build connections so that we can continue spreading joy throughout art in Ayrshire and beyond.
