2ndstage Ltd
2ndStage buys and invests in small, established businesses that help people as they age to stay comfortable, confident and supported in their own homes. Our role is to bring these businesses together, modernise where needed, and create a more seamless experience for families who are currently navigating a fragmented and outdated system. Our offering spans four areas: Comfort and Safety Mobility Emergency and Security Assistance/ help at home At the centre sits a trusted service brand that helps customers understand what they need, when they need it, and where to find it without having to piece things together alone. In October 2025, as a first move, we acquired Chiltern Care Chairs, a Buckinghamshire-based business focused on the first of those areas. We are currently in talks with a bathroom refit company and in 2026 we will build out our mobility offering. Our acquisition model is flexible and depends on the maturity of the business and the life stage of the owners. Our first acquisition was 100% buyout. Our second will be an initial minority investment leading to a staged buy out. The deal structure is less important than the group offering we are aiming to build.

Harlawhill Day Care Centre
Harlawhill Day Care Centre | Prestonpans, East Lothian Since 1992, Harlawhill has been at the heart of Prestonpans, supporting older people, many living with dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke or frailty, to stay independent, connected and confident in later life. We are a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SC020282) and open 50 weeks a year, welcoming up to 16 members each weekday. Our adapted minibus collects people from their doors and brings them safely home, removing transport barriers that often cause isolation. Inside our homely Centre, members enjoy nourishing meals and evidence-based activities such as reminiscence music, gentle exercise, creative arts and day trips that spark joy. Our dementia-friendly reminiscence room, designed by our in-house Dementia Ambassador, helps reduce agitation and encourage positive memories. Our impact goes beyond daily activities. Staff build trusted relationships that allow us to spot early health issues, link families with GPs and NHS partners, and reduce unnecessary hospital admissions. This approach can cut emergency admissions by up to 50 percent while easing pressure on family carers and other health professionals. We also provide signposting to benefits advice, energy-cost support and other local charities, keeping households stronger for longer. In 2021 our small charity was officially recognised as Top Team of the year at the Scottish Health Awards. Our vision: a community where growing older never means surrendering independence or social connection. Our values: Dignity • Compassion • Community • Prevention first We are now seeking forward-thinking partners and investors to help expand our reach, funding vital projects like a new specially adapted minibus and enhanced dementia therapies. Together we can prove that community care, early intervention and neighbourly solidarity keep independence alive.
