Diversity Institute

The Diversity Institute (DI) at Toronto Metropolitan University advances Canada’s competitiveness, economic development and sustainability by harnessing the power of equity, diversity and inclusion. We also track technological, economic, demographic and geopolitical trends that impact workplaces and anticipate changes in employment, as well as their implications for the policies, programs and processes. With ten hubs across the country, 80 full-time staff and more than 200 partners, we work with employers, governments, community organizations and researchers to strengthen inclusion in Canada’s employment and innovation ecosystem. We also develop, deliver and evaluate strategies and programs to advance inclusive education, employment, leadership and entrepreneurship. Our pan-Canadian initiatives include Future Skills Centre research, the Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (WEKH), the Inclusive Innovation and Entrepreneurship Network (IIE-NET), DiversityLeads, the Advanced Digital and Professional Training (ADaPT) program, among others. We are also a partner in the Bridging Divides program which focuses on immigration and the Artificial Intelligence and Quality of Working Lives and Worker Well-Being (PAIQ) research program led by the University of Toronto, among others.
