Edu Drama

EDUdrama – International Centre for Drama Education We create and actively support the development of drama education in Slovakia. Our goal and long-term commitment is to integrate drama education into the national curriculum reform of the Slovak education system and to build a strong support framework for professionals in both formal and supplementary professional development education, enabling them to implement drama education methods in the teaching of pupils and students at primary, secondary, and higher education levels. We monitor the position of drama education worldwide and bring examples of good practice to Slovakia. At the same time, we share EDUdrama projects within the international community. We provide education in an authentic, dynamic, and experiential way, grounded in real-life experience, with a strong emphasis on social values and reflection on current cultural and societal needs. EDUdrama is a part of the Association of Creative Drama in Slovakia, the Association of Czech Drama Centres and the International association IDEA (International Drama Education Association). We collaborate with the Department of Drama in Education in Prague (DAMU), establishing cooperation with other organisations in Slovakia (The National Centre of Culture and Further Education, The Slovak National Gallery), in Hungary (Káva Drama Magyar Dramapedagogiai Tarsasag,), Fidea in Finland, UCD in Dublin and more.
