Effective Altruism Exeter

The effective altruism movement is all about doing the most good we can do, by using evidence and rationality to discover the best ways to help the world. We focus on many different cause areas, including (but not limited to) global poverty, animal welfare, and existential risk. The Effective Altruism (EA) Society is an Exeter-based community of people who believe in the core EA values of helping the world, rationality, and optimisation. The society acts as a platform for EA-focused discussion. We aspire to learn how we can use our resources, careers, and free time to help the world as much as possible, and put this knowledge into practice. We hold weekly discussion sessions, which are open to anyone and everyone, and are cultivating a rich community of people who are passionate about doing good. Interested in learning more?
