Ess Bilbao

ESS Bilbao is an internationally renowned strategic center for neutron technologies which brings knowledge and added value through its in-kind contribution to the European Spallation Neutron Source project to be set up in Lund (Sweden). The ESS Bilbao Consortium is run by two public administrations. On one side, there is the Spanish State Government, with a 64% stake, and on the other, the Government of the Basque Autonomous Region, with a 34% stake. Its managing bodies are the Board of Governors and the Executive Committee. The workforce at ESS Bilbao is made up of around 60 highly qualified experts in the fields of physics and engineering. The organizational structure of the ESS Bilbao Consortium is broken down into topic-based groups, each with its own specific work projects. ESS Bilbao is committed to the quest for scientific excellence and the generation of knowledge in the field of accelerator technologies and neutronic applications. Research into these types of technology will help our society to develop and progress. The particular added value that ESS Bilbao offers to the society around it is the knowledge that it generates in the accelerator, target and neutron generation fields.
