Geicam - Spanish Breast Cancer Group
El Grupo Español de Investigación en Cáncer de Mama (GEICAM), cuenta con un equipo humano de gran profesionalidad, especializado en la gestión integral de ensayos clínicos relacionados con esta enfermedad. GEICAM es una Asociación científica de carácter no lucrativo registrada en el Ministerio del Interior el 4 de Abril de 1995. Desde Junio de 2009 GEICAM es una fundación incluida en el Registro de Fundaciones del Ministerio de Educación. Su objetivo es promover el estudio e investigación clínica y epidemiológica en el campo de la especialidad de oncología médica en cáncer de mama, así como la educación y divulgación de todo lo referente a esta enfermedad y su tratamiento. Tras estos años de andadura, se ha convertido en el grupo de investigación en cáncer de mama más importante de nuestro país, colaborando con los grupos internacionales punteros en la prevención, diagnóstico y tratamiento de esta enfermedad. Sus miembros son Licenciados o Doctores en Medicina, y en su mayoría poseen la especialidad en Oncología Médica. En total el grupo está constituido por más de 670 miembros que trabajan en más de 176 hospitales en toda la geografía española. GEICAM ha promovido la realización de 92 estudios en los que han participado más de pacientes y que han tenido una gran repercusión científica, viéndose esto reflejado en la presentación de un gran número de comunicaciones en los congresos, y en prestigiosas publicaciones nacionales e internacionales.

SOLTI es un grupo referente en investigación clínica del cáncer en España. Con una trayectoria consolidada de 30 años, su actividad principal se centra en el diseño y ejecución de estudios clínicos de base traslacional dentro del ámbito académico. Su interés se ha focalizado en cáncer de mama, pero abre su ámbito a otros tumores. SOLTI tiene una experiencia acumulada de 80 ensayos clínicos y más de 30 en marcha y está integrado por 480 investigadores en una red de 100 centros entre España, Portugal e Irlanda, coordinados por una oficina central en la que trabaja un equipo de más de 60 personas. SOLTI forma parte de la Sociedad Española de Oncología Médica (SEOM) y es una asociación sin ánimo de lucro que, además de su actividad científica, cuenta con un programa de Educación Médica y para pacientes con múltiples iniciativas anuales. La misión de SOLTI es promover, desde una visión disruptiva, una investigación innovadora que mejore el bienestar y el pronóstico de los pacientes con cáncer. The is a research centre, belonging to the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC). Founded in 1985 it currently has over 70 full-time researchers and engineers, including 24 PhD students. Its mission is to carry out very high quality research in AI keeping a good balance between basic research and applications, and paying particular attention to training PhD students and to technology transfer. Since 1987, the scientists have supervised more than 60 PhD students. The has three main research lines: Logic, reasoning and search; Case-based reasoning & learning; and Intelligent agents and multiagent systems. These research lines are applied to many domains. The main ones are electronic markets, agreement technologies, medicine, music, information privacy/security, and autonomous robots. researchers in these fields have chaired the leading conferences in Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI, ECAI, AAMAS, EUMAS); and are members of the board of the main journals (associate editorship of the prestigious AI Journal, JAAMAS, JAIR, etc.) and organizations (IJCAI Board of Trustees, IFAAMAS Board, etc.). Technology Transfer The Technology Development Unit in Artificial Intelligence (UDT-IA in the spanish acronym) is a group that aims to apply AI techniques developed at the in projects carried out by businesses and administrations. Donostia International Physics Center Dipc
DIPC is a research center whose mission is to perform and catalyze cutting-edge research in physics and related disciplines, as well as to convey scientific culture to society. Located in Donostia / San Sebastian (Basque Country, Spain), DIPC started activity in and was born from a strategic alliance of both public institutions and private companies. Since 2008 DIPC is a ‘Basque Excellence Research Center’ (BERC) recognized by the Basque Government’s Department of Education. In 2019, DIPC was also recognized as a ‘Severo Ochoa’ Excellence Center by the Spanish Research Agency. In addition, DIPC holds the most powerful Supercomputing Center of the Basque Country and one among the most relevants in Spain, a fundamental tool used by more than 300 researchers from DIPC and the BERC network. Excellence in research, Excellence in communication DIPC's scientific activity is based on a highly dynamic international research community made up of local researchers and a global network of scientists. The research carried out in the center covers several scientific fields, including condensed matter physics, material science, atomic and molecular physics, photonics, quantum optics, quantum computation, polymer physics, chemical physics, cosmology, particle physics, theoretical chemistry, and photochemistry, among others. ESS Bilbao is an internationally renowned strategic center for neutron technologies which brings knowledge and added value through its in-kind contribution to the European Spallation Neutron Source project to be set up in Lund (Sweden). The ESS Bilbao Consortium is run by two public administrations. On one side, there is the Spanish State Government, with a 64% stake, and on the other, the Government of the Basque Autonomous Region, with a 34% stake.
