Expressive Media is a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to extend the healing power of the arts to people of all ages and abilities throughout the world. The need to make the healing power of the arts available to those in distress is more urgent than ever. The arts offer a universal language with which to find and articulate a person’s authentic Self. The arts also allow us to speak to others, to hear their responses, and to communicate clearly, regardless of cultural difference or geographical distance. Expressive Media trains thousands of helping professionals to care for those in physical and psychological pain with sensitivity and respect. To do this, we produce films, publications, and training events to educate professionals, students, and others about the therapeutic value of the arts and best practices in the arts therapies.
