With 35 years of experience, we unite over 90 members across 24 EU countries — representing more than 92 million citizens and a community of energy professionals. We empower regions and their energy agencies to implement and replicate sustainable energy and climate solutions by providing: Peer exchange and capacity-building Dissemination of best practices and success stories Support to cooperation across EU territories and levels of governance Policy engagement and advocacy for the regional dimension Our key areas of expertise include: Energy communities and citizen engagement One-Stop Shops and integrated home renovation services Local investment planning and innovative financing (e.g. EPC, ELENA) Renewable energy deployment (incl. heating & cooling) Climate data for informed local policymaking Adaptation and mitigation strategies at local level FEDARENE is currently involved in 30+ EU-funded projects and has contributed to over 90 initiatives under LIFE, Horizon Europe and others. We support the European Commission as part of the secretariat teams for the Covenant of Mayors – Europe, ManagEnergy, the European City Facility, the Energy Communities Facility and Citizen-Led Renovation. Our members turn policy into action. As public, non-profit facilitators, regional and local energy agencies help public authorities, businesses and citizens plan and deliver the energy transition in a fair, inclusive and effective way.
