As God loves us, we are called to love others. One of the ways in which we do this, is through our Gatehouse initiative, as we aim to be first responders to the social, physical and emotional needs in our town. Our aim is to prevent and alleviate isolation and marginalisation in the BCP area and beyond. We run a community drop in centre with free tea, coffee and cake on Thursday and Friday mornings from 10:00 to 13:00 during term times. There are groups and activities running such as Golden Generations, Art & Craft, Tea & Tots group, Twins Support Group, Biker Curry nights, English Literacy & Confidence courses and a work space with free WiFi. We also give advice, signposting where help is available for housing, food or money worries. Our Gatehouse partner initiatives. Truth Be Told (TBT) Is a project that brings joy and life into residential care homes for the benefit of 0-4s, their parents and residents Oasis Is a group of men and women from Gateway who serve victims of domestic violence & abuse Tea & Tots Is a fun, interactive group for toddlers and their grown ups. There are areas for exploring, toys and role play Twins Support Group Is a group where twins and their adults can come together to encourage one another and connect with those who have gone through a similar journey Biker Curry Nights Is a bunch of guys and ladies who share a love of motorbikes and a good curry. Ex-bikers are also welcome! They meet the second Friday of the month at 7pm at 502 Ashley Road for fellowship, a curry, and chats about faith Life Lounge was a series of short, free interactive Zoom sessions aimed at building skills and techniques that improve personal resilience. These can be accessed through the Gatehouse website page Faithworks is a local Christian charity serving BCP by addressing some of the most pressing poverty issues in our conurbation head-on.
