Gateway Game Jams

The goal of our organization is to satisfy these missions: Mission 1: Provide youth insight into careers in growing and exciting technology. Mission 2: Build positive relationships between first responders and youth from under-resourced neighborhoods. Mission 3: Develop people skills and technical skills through game design. We found that video games were an excellent vehicle to facilitate building relationships and aiding in preparation for careers in technology. The game jams we host include police officers, tech professionals, and youth from under-resourced areas who work together to design and build video games - developing their soft skills and technical skills. Additionally, our participants gain insight from successful STL tech companies on how to pursue careers in their field.
