Gest Gender Equality Studies And Training Programme
Gender Equality Studies and Training (GRO GEST) is a multidisciplinary postgraduate diploma programme aimed at advancing gender equality and social justice in low/middle income, conflict and post-conflict countries. GEST was established in January 2009 through an agreement between the University of Iceland and the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs. The GEST programme was piloted from 2009 to 2013, with the goal of becoming accredited as a part of the United Nations University (UNU). GEST operated as UNU-GEST between 2013-2019, and as of 1 January 2020, GEST joined the other three Icelandic former UNU programmes (Fisheries Training Programme, Geothermal Training Programme and Land Restoration Training Programme) in GRÓ - Centre for Capacity Development, Sustainable Use of Natural Resources and Societal Change, a category 2 centre under the auspices of UNESCO.
