Kathy Glass, a former teacher, is an educational consultant and author providing customized professional development for teachers and administrators. Her trainings are specifically customized for targeted audiences (e.g, one-on-one, grade level groups, whole staff or districts, conference attendees). She presents and collaborates on areas affecting curriculum and instruction: designing standards-based differentiated curriculum or infusing existing curriculum with sound tenets of differentiation, building essential understandings and questions to guide instruction (backward design), providing compelling instructional strategies to engage all learners, teaching using the six traits of writing instruction and assessment, creating curriculum maps, and more. In addition to her latest books, Lesson Design for Differentiated Instruction, Grades 4-9 (Corwin Press, 2009) and Staff Development Guide for the Parallel Curriculum with co-author Cindy Strickland (2009), she also wrote Curriculum Mapping: A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Curriculum Year Overviews (2007) and Curriculum Design for Writing Instruction: Creating Standards-Based Lesson Plans and Rubrics (2005).
