Global Ukraine Rail Task Force

After Russia’s unprovoked and brutal invasion of Ukraine, a group of rail experts came together and created the Global Ukraine Rail Task Force. The Task Force is an advisory body and the members are all volunteers working in individual capacities. The primary task of the Global Ukraine Rail Task Force is to provide a roundtable to analyse the impact of Russia’s aggressive invasion on Ukraine’s rail sector and to seek solutions. The twin goals are to address the humanitarian crisis enveloping the rail sector as well as rebuilding the rail infrastructure to replace war damage and meet the long term needs of a democratic Ukraine linked to the West. The Task Force's four objectives are: 1) Address the humanitarian crisis, 2) Rebuild the Ukrainian rail sector infrastructure, 3) Address passenger rail capacity, 4) Maximise freight capacity. The Task Force is chaired by: Jolene Molitoris; Former Administrator of the United States Federal Railroad Administration Nick Brooks; Secretary General of the Alliance of Passenger Rail New Entrants in Europe – ALLRAIL.
