Their journey began with a visionary goal: to upcycle butchery chicken waste into an exceptional natural woolen fiber. This groundbreaking fabric is not only 10 times warmer, softer, and more durable than existing options but also significantly reduces carbon footprints. At Golden Feathers, they meticulously collect butchery chicken waste (BCW) from local poultry slaughterhouses and subject it to 27 hygienic sanitization processes. This stringent process ensures the extraction of clean, high-quality chicken feathers. These feathers are then transformed into pulp and yarn for handloom cloth, ushering in a new era of sustainable textiles. Annually, they upcycle an impressive kg of chicken feathers, depleting a remarkable 762,090 kg of carbon footprint. Over the past three years, Golden Feathers has recycled a remarkable 500 tons of BCW into handloom cloth. In doing so, they've achieved more than just sustainable fashion; they've generated livelihoods and positively impacted the lives of over 200+ tribal women and their families. By empowering 375+ semi-skilled/unskilled workers and training tribal women in handloom activities, they're not only creating beautiful, sustainable products but also fostering economic growth in underserved communities.
