At Gothic Opera, we specialise in productions of rarely-seen operatic works that take inspiration from the uncanny atmosphere of the Gothic and supernatural. Working with a wide range of artists, we thrill audiences with high-quality fringe performances in unconventional, characterful venues. Our critically-acclaimed productions to date are: Der Vampyr (Marschner, 2019), Bluebeard's Castle (Bartók, 2021), La Nonne sanglante (Gounod, 2021) and Le Loup-garou (Bertin)+ Le dernier sorcier (Viardot, 2022), Rip Van Winkle (Planquette, 2023), Maria de Rudenz (Donizetti, 2024), Die Rheinnixen (Offenbach, 2025). We also perform recitals on Gothic themes. Gothic Opera was founded in 2019 by sopranos Beatrice de Larragoiti, Charlotte Osborn and Alice Usher, and became a registered charity in 2020.
