Gregory James Wines is a boutique winery founded in 2013 by James "Jim" Demuth and Gregory "Greg" Adams. Located in the renowned wine regions of Sonoma and Napa Counties, the winery specializes in producing exceptional wines from the finest vineyards in these areas. Jim, an Ohio native, was inspired to start a winery after experiencing the unique flavors of an old vine Zinfandel during a 2012 trip to Sonoma County. Greg, a fourth-generation Californian, has been managing vineyards in Sonoma County since 1977, bringing a wealth of experience to the partnership. Together, they share a passion for crafting wines that reflect the distinct characteristics of their vineyards. Gregory James Wines focuses on cool-climate grapes from Sonoma County and bold Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from Napa Valley. The winery's range includes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and old vine Zinfandel from Dry Creek Valley. The 2018 vintage marked the winery's first Cabernet Sauvignon harvest from Beckstoffer’s Georges vineyard in Napa Valley, one of the region's most prestigious sources for Cabernet. The winemaking team has evolved over the years, with Mikael "Mike" Gulyash guiding the first seven vintages and Chris Russi, a seasoned winemaker with 25 years of experience in Sonoma County, joining in 2020. This continuity ensures that each bottle of Gregory James Wine embodies balance, character, and a sense of place.
