Imagine Creative Services

Imagine leverages the tools of storytelling, theatre, and creative multimedia to transform community culture and enhance opportunities for learning, connection and development. We utilize the arts to expand access for diverse communities to imagine and create a more just, equitable, and joyful reality. Imagine was established in 2021 with a commitment to “creating new possibilities for being together” by using applied theatre programming curated to support learning, development, and human connection in schools and communities. Joining together two 20 year careers at the intersections of theatre, education, youth development, social engagement, media arts, and non-profit communication, Imagine’s founders built on prior experience in East Africa, Central America, the Middle East, and other global contexts to the public schools and communities of New York City and San Diego. Since our launch, Imagine’s work has been rapidly growing. We have nurtured, sustained, and grown new collaborations with partners throughout San Diego County. Our programs are agile, responsive, research-based, and devised through intentional community listening practices. We develop one-of-a-kind academic enrichment and socially-engaged theatre programming, including interactive school tour shows, original curriculum for K-12 youth, after school programs, community workshops, community-inspired multimedia performances and videos, and public engagement and professional development opportunities for adults. At the center of our work is an Integrative Approach methodology, which merges together trauma-informed, healing-centered, culturally-responsive, transformative justice, and student-centered practices while cultivating dynamic developmental spaces for youth and adults.
