Integrated Child Support Foundation

Integrated Child Support Foundation (ICSF) is an independent, registered non-government and non-profit organization operating in Uganda, with headquarters in Lira District. The organization was founded by Mr. Aaron Aliu Uganda in 2019, whose inspiration was drawn from his childhood experience, as a displaced child, by the Lord’s Resistance Army during the 1990 guerrilla war that affected Northern Uganda. Aaron realized that decades after the war, the state of children in Uganda was still poor; with children facing risks including physical, emotional, and sexual violence, separation from families, child marriage, child soldiers, child labour, drug addiction, as well as trauma. This state is mainly fueled by the social and cultural norms. Girl child education is still poor, with many dropping out before completing primary schools, due to early pregnancy, child labor and loss of interest due to lack of basic needs. The situation relating to child and maternal health is poor with Uganda ranking among the top 10 countries in the world with high maternal, new-born and child mortality rates. It was therefore realized that Governments couldn’t only achieve ending suffering; rather, it demands the efforts of everyone. ICSF works with communities of Uganda to deliver integrated and holistic solutions that address health, protection, and development concerns according to the SDG. ICSF delivery approach adopts a more comprehensive systems approach, that takes into account community-led, child-focused, inclusive interventions and sustainable partnerships that will bring lasting impact to the lives of the people in Uganda.
