Iyanna Foundation is a registered NGO in Tanzania dedicated to empowering youth and transforming communities through education, health, and sports initiatives. By breaking cycles of poverty, reducing teenage pregnancies, and equipping young people with essential knowledge and resources, we help them make informed choices and build brighter futures. Core Programs Chess for Empowerment & Inclusion. Our school-based chess clubs enhance critical thinking, strategy, and problem-solving, reinforcing STEM education. In partnership with FIDE, we support children with autism, improving engagement and social skills. These clubs also serve as safe spaces for mentorship, peer learning, and leadership development, with a strong emphasis on empowering girls. Supporting Young Mothers & Children Teen pregnancy limits opportunities. Our program offers shelter, counselling, and a safe haven for mothers and children. Vocational training provides practical skills for financial independence, while education reintegration initiatives help young mothers return to school and continue their learning journey. STEM Education & Mentorship We prioritize closing the STEM gender gap by creating opportunities for youth in science, technology, engineering, and math. Mentorship programs connect students with role models who guide their education and career paths. Reproductive Health & Life Skills Our chess hubs provide a safe space for peer-led discussions on reproductive health and sensitive topics, empowering young people with knowledge to make informed choices about their well-being and future. Community & Government Collaboration Our Reflective Leadership Training encourages leaders to examine values and biases, promoting responsibility in protecting vulnerable populations. Through community dialogue and accountability, we mobilize efforts to safeguard children's rights and advance gender equity.
