kalāastitva originated from the belief that art(kalā) is, or could be āstitva, or the essence of being. Our collective originated with a desire to bring artists together from various walks of life. We believe that art has absolute potential to transform people as well as lives, and we try to inspire harmonious living everyday. According to our belief, art is not just a specialized talent, but a part of everyday living. The value of art is not just the aesthetic element that it accords on to the mundane, but also the feelings and emotions that it invokes on a personal as well as social level. The value of art and artists extends beyond the immediate, and is an essential part of the dynamics of change in the world around us. As a collective, we work together to create, beautify, transform and inspire. From garbage disposal equipment to walls of night shelters and parks, our art hopes to fill the ordinary with something exquisite. We engage in various art forms such as murals, graffiti, sculpture and even digital designs to enliven the world around us. Through such endeavours, we hope to provide hope and pleasure in surroundings that are usually perceived as ordinary, futile, or even dark. The brightness of the colours that we use is symbolic of the faith we have in the various shades of humankind and humaneness. Our USP is that we put our best combined efforts into our original work and fill it with sensory and intellectual value. We extend opportunity to new artists, inspired amateurs and also seasoned freelancers, so that individual engagement may flow in from various channels and mediums. Our family is committed and unique, and comprises people from various walks of life, symbolizing what we believe is the true meaning of art: that kalā can break barriers of human society, and lead communities to a conscious, self-aware, responsible and peaceful co-existence.
